Meet the Practioners

Dr. Jim Claussen began his journey towards health and personal growth after dislocating his shoulder six times as a young adult. This gave him exposure to several chiropractors and planted the seed for a future career in the healthcare field. He later became a personal trainer and athletic trainer, with an interest in exercise, physiology, and nutrition. He was a people person that enjoyed working with his hands, which led him to simultaneously pursue a degree at the National Chiropractic College, where he graduated in 1994.Dr. Claussen studied under other professionals to bring the highest quality of cutting-edge healthcare to his patients. He achieved the highest level in the B.E.S.T.  technique and earned the title of Master, allowing him to bring even more support, information, and empowerment to his holistic healing practice. Dr. Claussen recently relocated his practice to a new facility at Cantera Lakes. Here patients continue to experience miracles daily in a beautiful expanded setting.

Dr. Claussen, his wife Annette and their five daughters reside in Aurora, Illinois

Alicia Miller is a naturapath in Warrenville, Illinois. While in massage school, she took  an Acupressure class along with Tai Chi.It was the first time in a long time that she went the whole winter without getting sick.  Alicia realized then, that she was on the right track in a journey to good health.  She then discovered Naturopathic Medicine and the light bulb went off!The more she read and researched, the more she knew it was exactly what she should be doing.  Alicia has seen a huge disconnect in the way conventional medicine is practiced and it is her  goal to put all the pieces back together, to treat the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. She will also empower people to take an active role in their health care and to teach you how to take care of yourself in the most natural way possible.

Alicia Miller received her Naturopathic Medical education from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ.There are only 4 accredited Naturopathic Medical Schools in the US and SCNM is one of them.  Alicia Miller received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, IL and Massage Therapy training from Wellness Massage Training Institute in Woodridge, IL.

She specializes in clinical nutrition, Homeopathy, Botanical medicine, Chinese Medicine, Acupressure, Hydrotherapy, and lifestyle counseling.Although Alicia is trained as a family care doctor, she has special interest in women's medicine, adolescent medicine, and pediatrics.  She  believes in treating the whole person, not just your symptoms and empowering the patient to take control of their health care.

Naturopathic Medicine has been around for centuries, but has only been in the US since early 1900's and has been gaining popularity since the 1960.Naturopathic Medicine is a specialized form of medicine that focuses on the patient individual health. It is based on 6 principles of health.

The Healing power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae). It is the self-organizing and healing process of living systems which establishes, maintains, and restores health.

Identify and Treat the Causes (Tolle Causam).Illnesses do not occurwithout cause.Underlying causes of illness must be identified and removed before complete recovery can occur.

First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere).ND utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize risk of harmful effects.Suppression of symptoms is avoided as suppression generally interferes with the healing process.
Doctor as Teacher (Docere). The original meaning of doctor is teacher. The main objective is to educate the patient on how to take care of themselves and take responsibility for their health. Treat the whole person.Health and disease result from a complex of physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors.Naturopathic medicine recognizes the harmonious functioning of all aspects of the individual as being essential to health.

Prevention.ND emphasize the prevention of disease and the attainment of optimal health through education and promotion of healthy ways of living.
